NEW SARAH SONG HIT ME HARD

Im sitting at my desk listening to a few new records...Keane and Sarah McLachlan, as well as the new
Brandon Flower's single 'Crossfire'. As a pianist, I am obviously a Sarah Mclachlan FREAK, and one song in
particular hit me so hard I just burst into tears. 'Bring On The Wonder' is a prime example of what I steal
from Sarah's style...it's a tactic she shares with other women like Enya, Loreena McKennitt and Imogen Heap.
HARMONIES. When my album is finished and in your hands, you will definately hear the same.
OK I have to stop typing and go cry some more...

AWAKEN YOUR INNER CHILD

Ever gone back and dug up childhood memories? books you read...movies you watched...toys you had. Let me tell you, it is a powerful thing. I moved into a new place this weekend, and had to organize my book collection on the glorious new massive bookshelves I bought. I found my childhood books...Im talking FIRST memories as Lucy. To open these and study the pictures and storylines brings back so many feelings and concepts, it was abit overwhelming. When you re-visit things in your life like this, you realize how they have shaped your concepts and feelings in a serious way.

For instance, the papa bear of 'The Berenstain Bears' literally looks like my real-life dad in my mind...and always has. I did not realize this until I opened the book again at age 27. The characters of Ruby Buttons and Violet Pickles in the 'Ivy Cottage' books embody how I've always seen myself and my big sister Alison...I'm the short redhead (Ruby) and she is the tall skinny girl (Violet). again, I hadn't pieced this together until just now.

I suppose I'm sharing this seemingly kiddie concept, because it is incredible to see your mind...your entire LIFE to this point has been affected by what's around you. That is why it is of the utmost importance that we pay attention to what young people are influenced by. I am fortunate to have been exposed to very minimal violence in my childhood, but I see kids sometimes who are allowed to watch the news, or violent movies and it is really upsetting.

I am off to band rehearsal for my concert this saturday 6/26 at the Marin County Fair...and while I do that, do an amazing thing for yourself and find some of the old books/movies/places from your childhood and dive in again. It unlocks a forgotten world in your mind and leads to self-discovery. SO FUN!!

RAW FOOD AND LUDACRIS

First off, let me tell you I worked with Ludacris today on a project-and he is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Unassuming, good-hearted and genuine...not to mention talented and wildly entertaining.

Ok now that's out of the way...down to business-I've begun eating RAW. I'm not interested in full-on vegetarian or vegan, but I often overeat and feel really sluggish. So I've decided that several days a week i'll eat raw foods only. This is beneficial for many reasons, and I recommend you research it online if you're interested. I've ordered several great RAW cookbooks, but I've been too anxious for them to arrive...so last night I pulled 4 recipes offline, went to WholeFoods for the ingredients and made big batches to eat through the week. They were:

1. Curried Cauliflower, Squash and Leeks
2. Red Cabbage and Onion Slaw
3. Avocado Romaine Boats
4. Winter Buckwheat Breakfast

My favorite is the Avocado/Grapefruit Lettuce Cups, and I posted links for all 4 recipes below. They all turned out great!! In the past I've felt cooking was a waste of time...but these days cooking has become therapeutic after a day or week of busy life. We all need to balance work with something we simply enjoy, and this RAW project is my new happy place. Have a yummy RAW recipe? Email me at TheLucyWalsh@gmail.com and I'll post it!

MY CONCERT AT SUMMERFEST w/ 'VERTICAL HORIZON'

Yesterday I played a concert in OC with 'Vertical Horizon'...we all know and love their songs, ive been a fan for years. It was the 'St. Angela Merici SummerFest'...an annual school fundraiser. Before I played, I took a pic in the old original BAT MOBILE (from the tv show) for the owner-cars aren't my thing, but this one was pretty great.

Itwas insanely hot and the sun was right in my face. I wore my shades, which ive never done during a concert...i wasn't sure if id be able to see my keys, but it worked out just fine and I had a great time onstage. Thanks all you who came out to listen. Oh yes, and they gave me the huge sign of my name...which is now hanging above my bed. kidding. After the show and meeting all you lovely fans my boyfriend and I went to BJs and caught the end of the exciting Lakers game.
PS. If anyone has LW live pics or home-made LW videos or signs, send them to me and ill post with credit!

SOMEONE STALKING MY FAMILY

My family has had some drama with an escalated stalking. Obviously this sort of thing is really scary. It's crazy to think that ANYONE can find you, no matter how private your home. This is part of the reason I love living in a huge apartment complex. Being a performer, it crosses my mind sometimes how unprotected you are. I played a free concert in downtown LA, and it hit me in the middle of a song just how easy it would be for someone to get to the person onstage if they wanted. Obviously not everyone deals with that situation, but whatever your life-be careful for me, will you? Always watch those around you, especially people you might notice repeatedly. It is warm and fuzzy to assume that everyone on earth wants to 'live and let live', but it is not the case. The following story was taken from TMZ.
---------------------------------------------------
"Eagles" guitarist Joe Walsh claims a man in his 70s has threatened to shoot him dead ... this according to new court documents. In the docs, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Walsh claims his P.A. approached Adhoot ... but the old guy attacked him and then shouted, "You tell Joe Walsh I'm going to kill him. I'm going to shoot him." Walsh says he was so freaked out -- he filed for a restraining order to get protection for himself, his wife, his assistant, his maid and his gardener.
